FREE FALL FOR FULL CIRCLE
22nd July 2007: Former patient Su Appleton and her friend, Kelly Soper braved the worst floods of Gloucestershire to complete their parachute jumps on Sunday 22nd July and between them raised an heroic £1310.00 for the Full Circle Fund.

Su was only 19 when she was diagnosed with "very severe aplastic anaemia" – a life-threatening bone marrow failure. She was admitted to the Ruth Myles Unit at St George's Hospital, Tooting, where she spent nine months in isolation and received a bone marrow transplant.

During that time, Su formed a strong attachment to the ward. "It never occurred to me how attached I would become to this essential ward and how it was going to become my home from home. The staff are amazing, and go beyond their job description, from domestics and the receptionist to the nursing staff and doctors. I don’t think any of them realise just how special they are to patients like myself."

Su describes her own experience of these supportive therapies as "amazing because they worked alongside my medical treatments, and helped me to cope emotionally with the isolation. This is one of the main reasons I support the Full Circle Fund and why I want to raise money for its work."
