Gabriele Avery joined the Full Circle Therapy Team in 2009 and is Project Lead for Training and Development as well as Lead reflexologist for Haematology and Bone Marrow Transplant. She also is the Lead reflexologist for Paediatric Medicine.
Gabriele trained as a Reflexologist (AOR) in 1998 with the Maureen Burgess School of Reflexology. She has also completed several specialist reflexology courses including GTR (Gentle Touch Reflexology), VTR (Vertical Reflexology), Precision Reflexology, ART (Advanced Reflexology Techniques), Chi Reflexology, and Maternity Reflexology. In 2008 Gabriele started her own school of yoga where she successfully developed her module-based and CPD training programme for yoga teachers. Gabriele has also developed and delivered accredited CPD Reflexology courses for qualified practitioners, specializing in reflexology for cancer, blood and neurological disorders, fertility issues and hand reflexology.
Her teaching abilities have been recognized by receiving awards from students as well as professional bodies. In addition she is an accomplished presenter at CAM conferences and health shows in the UK and abroad. Her background as a facilitator and qualified assessor has been pivotal to developing Full Circle’s tailor made programmes of self-help techniques for patients and staff which she delivers alongside reflexology. Her breathing techniques and gentle stretches are rooted in traditional yoga while her relaxation methods are a unique synthesis of breathwork, visualisation and ‘Relaxation Response’, as developed and documented by the Harvard physician Dr Herbert Benson MD.
Gabriele says: “My work with Full Circle has been hugely rewarding. I see so many desperately ill people on the wards but it’s a great comfort to know that by providing holistic treatments I can at least help reduce their suffering. I feel privileged and honoured to be a member of the Full Circle team and I am proud to be associated with the high standards of professionalism and compassion that the charity upholds.”
