Janice Barrett

Janice is Full Circle’s Clinical Advisor for Intensive Care at St George’s Hospital. She has been a nurse for over 30 years and a massage therapist for over 5 years.

Janice has worked at St Georges in both senior intensive care nursing and massage therapy roles at different times and values the expertise of the medical, nursing and allied therapies that this [amazing] hospital has.   Janice was first shown the value of massage by an intensive care nurse colleague over 20 years ago and finally got around to studying it herself several years later. Initially she studied holistic (swedish) massage before going on to qualify in sports massage with the London School of Sports Massage with a BTEC Level 5 diploma, and as a Certified Infant Massage Instructor from the International Association of Infant Massage [IAIM] and aromatherapy massage (ITEC).

Outside of Full Circle Janice teaches other nurses advanced skills at the Royal Marsden School and maintains her nursing skills by continuing to work clinically.

Janice says: “What has surprised me the most is how relaxing and de-stressing massage is to do – as well as to receive. Having the time to spend with patients, to listen and have human contact is truly a privilege.”
